Who did you wish you were on Gilligan's Island?
So maybe you didn't lay in bed at night and picture yourself on the island with Gilligan, or maybe you did and you were Gilligan? Ok...I was always Marianne! And, as a confession, Marianne and the Professor always got married - after all, who else was she going to end up with? Skipper? Gilligan? Please....
Anyway, we were at lunch today and my boys got to talking with another child about Gilligan's Island...of course, all the adults around the table could carry this conversation! We all remember this group - but watch it today - somehow you missed all the times when the giant spider in the cave really looked like a stuffed animal...and where did they get all those costumes from - I mean I know Ginger carried alot of luggage, but the minnow was only so big! And if they had so many visitors to the island - including ZsaZsa Gabor, what is the likelihood that NO ONE would send help!
Well, I know we have Lost and Survivor and all these other islands to talk about now....but somehow good old Gilligan still makes me laugh!

Rubic's Cube makes a comeback?
Anyone see American Idol the other night - the guy with the rubic's cube? Amazing that on a show like that, the rubic's cube is making a comeback! I bet we see it popping up everywhere now - you know, sitcoms, comedy shows...next it will be the survivor's of flight 815 from Lost will suddenly find a rubic's cube that they have to mix up and solve every 108 minutes or the world will be lost....
Who knows where it will pop up next - be watching! You may want to brush up on your skills and find your old cube in the back of the closet or you will be behind the times! By the way, if you go looking at Walmart for these - they are staying sold out!

Eversons live in a Retro House!
When we moved here to Southaven, MS, we decided to rent a home and we found (with the help of a great agent) a WONDERFUL home in Olive Branch! This home is beautiful and has a great layout! The home is about 20 years old and, as we were noticing all the "cool features" in it, we realized that this home was on the cutting edge of technology when it was built. The home has a central vaccuum system and a hard wired alarm system throughout! This home was designed with the future in mind and it is wild to think that it was done so long ago!
We are so thankful for this home and the terrific landlords that have worked with us so well...they have been great. We look forward to spending these FREEZING nights inside this great space!

A little laugh - this one even made Dr. Chad Everson laugh!
Just saw this on a blog of a "blogger friend" of ours! Who knew that there was another "Chad Everson" out there - but his name is Chad "Grizzly" T. Everson and he is a conservative, Republican, homeschooling blogger from up North! We have commented on each other's blogs now that we know about one another - check out his sites if you get a chance!
Anyway, this was on one of his blogs this morning as a comment from another poster - I thought it was hilarious! It was titled: "Dear Friends and Family"
"Dear friends and family,With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote ” The Hokie Pokey” died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started….
“Shut up.” You know it’s funny.
Thats what its all about!
I thought it was important you all knew…"
